This book includes everything you need to know to keep your bike running in tip top condition. It covers the service schedules for all the major brands, and details the work you need to do at every mileage and annual interval.
Where technology has changed over the years, or different manufacturers have their own way of doing things, each of the possibilities is covered; so the chapters covering service work include carburettors & fuel injection; shaft, belt & chain drive; right way up & upside down forks; disc & drum brakes; bucket and shim & screw and locknut tappets and so on.
Also included are chapters covering general ownership rather than just servicing such as; suspension setup; the principles of engine tuning; choosing luggage; electrical theory & practice and workshop safety.
Whilst it is written as a standalone book, it compliments my other books by having a far greater variety of information than is included in the model-specific service manuals.
